Cubic Mile is a free action game from indie developer Ghost Meets Cat. It mashes puzzle-solving mechanics with the fast-paced bullet hell action shooter gameplay. Players will need to make quick decisions and have fast reaction times to pass each uniquely designed level.

Cubic Mile has a similar feel as Holey Hell, with both providing a good challenge to players where speed is the most important factor. Apart from its challenging gameplay, its level design is one aspect of the game that stands out. From the retro 2D layouts to immersive 3D landscapes, each room feels unique and distinct.

What is Cubic Mile about?

Cubic Mile is the game’s setting, a newly created technology where users can upload their consciousness and stream for the public to see. Every facet of your mind, from your fears to your wishes, and even your dark secrets will be broadcasted live and will be on display. Your mind needs to be compressed to cubic form first, though, and this can only be done by entering the Cubic Mile itself.

You will be able to explore your consciousness as represented by a vast cube world once you're inside the mile. Splinters also reside here — parts of yourself that have been rejected by your mind and became hostile and resentful. You’ll go through multiple uniquely designed rooms and defeat enemies to clear out your mind of darkness and negativity. You’ll encounter fellow cubes from time to time, which will help you along your journey.

You have a single spin skill that you'll use to both fight enemies and block attacks. However, you can do it only 3 times so you need to use it sparingly and wisely. Cubic Mile can be played using either keyboard or controller, but the latter is the recommended method. Some levels feature bright lights and flashes that can induce seizures in some people, so proceed with caution.
